Ross Dodt is a well known DPI officer respected for his practical knowledge and
understanding of Queensland's diverse Beef Production Systems.
With a background in cattle nutrition, reproduction and management, Ross has special interests in markets, carcase composition, and the management of vegetation in tropical climates to economically convert pasture to beef that offers both domestic and overseas consumers a flavour-some eating experience of high nutritional value.
Based in Mackay, Ross is currently a Senior Project Leader in the Global Beef Export program of Queensland's 'Beef Industry Institute'. He is responsible for beef extension activities in the Mackay region and for managing a cattle project at Toorak Research Station, Julia Creek.
